Electric heater

The heater option is available for all models. Models

LEX04E, LEX05E, and LEX06E are supplied with two

heater elements for a total capacity of 3 kW. Models

LEX08E, LEX10E, and LEX14E are supplied with two

heater elements for a total capacity of 6 kW.

Heater control is of the ON-OFF type. The heater is provided

with a manual reset, heater safety thermostat, to disable the

heater in the event of high temperature.

The heater safety thermostat also incorporates a

magneto-thermal switch which protects the heater from short

circuits, should the cable harness be damaged accidentally.

Re duced kW heat ers

A further heater option is available to special order, when the

power supply to the unit is limited. Reduced heater capacity is

1.5 kW for LEX04E, LEX05E and LEX06E and 3.0 kW for

LEX08E, LEX10E and LEX14E.

External inverter kit

The electric panel is configured for connection to an external

inverter (output 230V or 400VAC, not supplied by Liebert).

This allows emergency operation of the AC evaporator fans,

controller and the Freecooling damper in case of mains power

failure.

Voltage failure relay

The voltage failure relay can be used to generate an alarm in

case of mains power loss or when the main circuit breaker

(MCB) is open.

R407C

An optional “Zero ODP” refrigerant, R407C is available with

the unit. Cooling capacities and electrical consumption are

within 5% of the stated capacities for R22.

Emergency cooling

The unit can be supplied with an emergency cooling system

that allows the indoor fans, the controller and the motor

damper to run from a 48V or 24 V DC power supply. This

allows the unit to maintain air circulation inside the room in

the event of mains power failure.

For the emergency cooling option, the standard evaporator

fans are replaced by two free wheel fans with backward

curved blades, each driven by a DC motor. The DC supply is

provided by 24V or 48V batteries located inside the

conditioned space.

With this option, the evaporator fans, the controller and the

damper actuator are permanently powered from a battery DC

supply. The other components, compressor, reheat etc. are

mains powered. In the event of mains failure, these other

components will not operate.

Grilles

Air inlet and discharge grilles and connection ducts are also

available. The grilles are manufactured with extruded

aluminium (natural anodised finishing) with a single row of

adjustable fins. Metallic ducts are especially designed to

prevent water entering the site through the unit.

Special packaging

Where the unit is to be transported by sea or in other cases

where heavy duty packaging is required, special crating is

available.

This can consist of either a wooden crate over the standard

carboard/bubble wrap packaging or the entire unit can be

encased in a wooden box complete with silicon desiccant.

High ambient operation

If the unit is to be used in applications where the outside

ambient is higher than 45

C, performance will be derated

from the catalogue values. Consult Liebert Applications

Engineers for recommendations on use of the unit outside the

specified operating limits.

The maximum recommended ambient temperature for

standard units operating with R22 or R407C is 50

C for

LEX04E, LEX05E, LEX08E and LEX10E and 48

C for

LEX06E and LEX14E.

TXV on mod els LEX04/05/06E

An externally equalised, adjustable, thermostatic expansion

valve is available as a special option on models

LEX04/05/06E. It is recommended for high ambient

operations.
